New York State Urban Council

The We Live NY (WLNY) Livable Communities Capacity Grant Program is a matching grant program funded by Empire State Development Corporation (ESD) and administered through the New York State Urban Council (NYSUC).  Grant awards will be made to assist YPOs across New York State in attraction and retention efforts and in developing and implementing programs or activities that will have a significant impact on the quality of life and the revitalization of the state’s downtown cores. Preference will be given to organizations that 1) demonstrate a track record of success; 2) bring multiple partners to the project; 3) articulate the project’s uniqueness; 4) describe the potential to catalyze additional projects, increase visibility, and leverage of other resources; and 5) indicate how the project benefits the region’s downtown or urban core.  To be eligible for funding, a YPO must be partnered with a not-for-profit organization on the application submission.
